Kick Islamophobia Part 2


Kick Islamophobia is back for the second year running!

Due to popular demand from the youth of Islington, Young Muslim Voices award winning anti racism festival ‘Kick Islamophobia’ is back in 2009! In 2008 we brought over 400 young people together to take part in this anti racism festival and this year we brought together over 1000!

The aim of this event is to break down barriers between all, break down stereotypes and promote the message that youth have power and ability to make positive change in their community. The event included:

  • 16 team football tournament
  • Islington’s young and talented showcase
  • Live graffiti art project
  • A range of inspirational speakers and performers e.g. Tariq Ramadan, Prince Abdi, Joe Black
  • MCing, break dancing workshops
  • Debates and game shows
  • Bouncy castle, free massages, henna and face paining and lots more fun and freebies for everyone
